Baseball Game Preview: Los Banos Tigers vs. Buhach Colony Thunder

Los Banos hasn't had much luck against Buhach Colony recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Los Banos will be playing in front of their home fans against Buhach Colony at 4:00 p.m. Los Banos will be strutting in after a win while Buhach Colony will be coming in after a loss.

Los Banos took a 17-run defeat the last time they faced off against Atwater, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Los Banos came out on top in a nail-biter against Atwater on Friday, sneaking past 5-3. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Jesse Vasquez tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Los Banos is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Los Banos' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gavin (Gabriel) Estrada, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Buhach Colony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against El Capitan, falling 10-1.

Los Banos is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. Buhach Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

Los Banos suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Buhach Colony when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Los Banos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
