Football Recap: Bartlett Panthers vs. Pearl-Cohn Firebirds
Bartlett had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it five. They fell just short of the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds by a score of 31-28. The Panthers gained 60 more yards on the day, but it was the Firebirds that made the best use of them.
Aiden Jackson and Jaibriel Bowers certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jackson rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, while Bowers rushed for 154 yards and one score. LJ FUNK had a dynamite game, throwing for 319 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024.
Bartlett has already played their next contest, a 49-8 victory against Cordova on the 10th. As for Pearl-Cohn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 55-0 win against Greenbrier on the 10th.
