Soccer Game Preview: Ryan vs. Argyle

The Ryan Raiders will challenge the Argyle Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Ryan has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Argyle will arrive with seven straight wins.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Ryan's offense. They lost 4-0 to Colleyville Heritage on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 474th, while the Panthers are ranked 51st).

Meanwhile, Argyle's and Denton's contest on Tuesday was close at halftime, but Argyle turned on the heat in the second half with four goals. Argyle never let Denton get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Argyle's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Ryan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
