Soccer Game Preview: Taylor County vs. Jefferson County

The Taylor County Bulldogs will challenge the Jefferson County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor County's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Taylor County will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Lafayette, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Taylor County beat Lafayette by a goal, winning 3-2. The Bulldogs wouldn't have won without Case Poppell, who scored the game-winner.

Taylor County's lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Poppell got a bit more time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 56.8). Poppell made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, Jefferson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Marianna, falling 8-0.

The win got Taylor County back to even at 7-7-3. As for Jefferson County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything went Taylor County's way against Jefferson County in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Taylor County made off with an 8-0 victory. Will Taylor County repeat their success, or does Jefferson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
