Evergreen Valley and Leland are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Evergreen Valley Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Leland Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Last Monday, Evergreen Valley came up short against Christopher and fell 3-1. Evergreen Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leland had to take a loss the last time they faced off against Pioneer but Julia Nikolov made sure they didn't get the same satisfaction on Wednesday. Leland walked away with a 3-1 win over Pioneer thanks in part to Nikolov, who had 16 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted in her last eight matchups.
The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23.
Evergreen Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Leland, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season.
