Volleyball Recap: Thomas Jefferson School Takes a Loss

Thomas Jefferson School extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 3-0 to Crosspoint Christian. The Titan were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Crosspoint Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Crosspoint Christian, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Crosspoint Christian found their leader in sophomore Lizzy Schutt, who had 16 assists and 11 aces. Schutt has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last 12 times she's played. Julie Liggett was another key player, getting seven kills, six aces, and three digs.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Thomas Jefferson School is set to face off against their familiar foe Rivers of Life Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crosspoint Christian will square off against rival Providence Classical Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
