Soccer Game Preview: Pell City vs. Altamont

The Pell City Panthers will take on the Altamont Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pell City has three straight wins, Altamont has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pell City challenged Bessemer City on Friday. Pell City blew past Bessemer City 5-1. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Altamont came up short against John Carroll Catholic on Tuesday and fell 4-2. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly two goals.

Pell City's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Altamont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Pell City skirted past Altamont 2-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Does Pell City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Altamont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
