Basketball Game Preview: Mission Bears vs. Galileo Lions

The Mission Bears will head out to square off against the Galileo Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mission is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lincoln on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mission came up short against Lincoln, falling 74-52. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Galileo over The Academy - San Francisco in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Galileo blew The Academy - San Francisco out of the water with a 58-29 final score. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Galileo has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Mission, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Things could have been worse for Mission, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to Galileo in their previous meeting back in January. Can Mission avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
