Baseball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Takes a Loss

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Sierra Lutheran was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pershing County Mustangs by a score of 3-1. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Shaun Castro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Matt Fahey was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sierra Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 7-15-1. As for Pershing County, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-16.

While Sierra Lutheran had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
