League recap: Getford overpowering for Umatilla in past week

4A District 6 league recap: 3/8/13

Jesse Getford was the best pitcher in 4A District 6 this week, leading Umatilla. Over the past week, he had two wins and seven Ks.

Tanner Frabott was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .571 average with seven RBIs. The Bulldogs compiled a record of 3-1 in that time.

Mount Dora's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 12 hits and 15 walks to lead the league in both categories.

Ranking first in average, hits and runs batted in, Umatilla's Frabott has been the league's most productive player at the plate this season. His impressive stat line for the season stands at nine RBIs and 11 hits to go along with a .458 average.

Five batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Tanner Frabott, who hit .571 this week (8-for-14).



Frabott drove in four runners on Monday in the Bulldogs' 11-8 victory over Wildwood. He went 4-for-5 and scored two runs.

Dustin Bauer led Trinity Catholic to a win on February 27, as he notched nine strikeouts to beat Weeki Wachee, 4-2. He gave up seven hits and four runs over six innings of work.
