Basketball Recap: AGBU Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

AGBU saw some tournament action on Monday. They came out on top against the Norwalk Lancers by a score of 46-39. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Lancers are ranked 621st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Norwalk lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Andruw Castellanos, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points. David Zazueta was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 11 points.

AGBU's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Norwalk, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

AGBU will square off against Apple Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Norwalk, they will venture away from home to face off against Firebaugh at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwalk is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
