Basketball Game Preview: Utopia Buffaloes vs. Medina Bobcats

The Utopia Buffaloes are taking a road trip to face off against the Medina Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Utopia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

On Tuesday, Utopia beat Comstock 61-52.

Meanwhile, Medina played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 55-25 loss at the hands of D'Hanis. The Bobcats were down 46-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Utopia's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Medina, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-8.

Utopia came up short against Medina in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 65-54. Can Utopia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
