Basketball Recap: Millie Allison and Kendal Price Secure Win for Mooresville

While Mooresville's victory against Columbus East wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pioneers had just enough and edged out the Olympians 50-48. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Olympians: they've now won three in a row.

Mooresville was led to victory by Kendal Price and Millie Allison. Price posted 13 points and four steals, while Allison went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points. Price is becoming a predictor of the Pioneers' success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). Madisyn Phillips also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steals of the season.

Mooresville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got Mooresville back to even at 3-3. As for Columbus East, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mooresville will host Martinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus East, they will square off against South Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
