Softball Recap: Hays Comes Up Short

Hays and Smithson Valley squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hays had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-0 to the Rangers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Hawks just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Hays' defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Smithson Valley, the win was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-1.

Hays does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Smithson Valley, they will challenge South San Antonio at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
