Recap: Carver Collegiate Academy Rams vs. Liberty Magnet Patriots
After flying high against the Edna Karr Cougars last Thursday, the Carver Collegiate Academy Rams came back down to earth. Carver Collegiate Academy was outmatched by Liberty Magnet at home and fell 72-45. Carver Collegiate Academy lost against Liberty Magnet in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-46 score last time.
Liberty Magnet's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malek Robinson, who scored 6 points along with 8 steals and 7 assists. Robinson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Howard Gaskins Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Carver Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Liberty Magnet, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carver Collegiate Academy will challenge Crescent City Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Crescent City Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Liberty Magnet, they will head out on the road to face off against McKinley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
