Nebraska high school football: Week 5 schedule, scores

This week's Nebraska high school football schedule is headlined by No. 20 Waverly taking its perfect record to 3-1 York in what is the first of three district contests for each of these playoff contenders.

The winner will likely climb into the driver's seat of the B-3 district. Both Waverly and York bring stingy defenses to the battle, giving up just 10.8 and 6.8 points per game, respectively.

While there are no contests featuring top 25 programs going head-to-head this week, Ponca traveling to No. 11 Battle Creek is a big C2-4 district opener.

In Class A, No. 12 Millard West (Omaha) travels to 4-0 South Sioux City to kick off their A-6 district schedules and 3-1 Bellevue East (Bellevue) battles No. 23 Gretna on the road in the A-2 district.

Top non-district contests have 3-1 Cedar Catholic (Hartington) traveling to slug it out with No. 13 Oakland-Craig (Oakland) and No. 25 Omaha North going to 2-2 Omaha Central.
