Basketball Recap: DeKalb Takes a Loss

After flying high against Maysville last Friday, DeKalb came back down to earth. The DeKalb Tigers came up short against the Doniphan West Mustangs on Monday, falling 53-30. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 428th in Missouri, while the Mustangs are ranked 21st in Kansas).

DeKalb has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Doniphan West, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

DeKalb has already played their next match (against Mound City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Doniphan West, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-39 loss against Centralia on the 4th.
