It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Holy Family had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Resurrection Christian Cougars with a 48-42 win. The victory was nothing new for Holy Family as they're now sitting on six straight.

Holy Family got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Essynce Contreraz out in front who scored 16 points along with six steals. Contreraz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Hodell, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Resurrection Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Callie Gillespie, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Olivia Klein was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Holy Family is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-2 record this season. As for Resurrection Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 23-4.

Holy Family and Riverdale Ridge will face off at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
