Recap: McDowell Titans vs. Enka Jets
Make it five blowout wins for the McDowell Titans this season. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-40 victory over Enka. Given McDowell's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Enka is ranked 291st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McDowell had a senior duo take command as David Olivo scored 22 points and Eli Elliott scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Olivo has scored all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for McDowell and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Enka, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDowell will challenge Asheville at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Enka, they will head out on the road to challenge North Buncombe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Trent Clark and Sam Waddell.
