Sumter had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wando Warriors a 4-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Lillie Ivey's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sumter saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKenzi Pearson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Sumter hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Sumter's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Wando, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

As of now, neither Sumter nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
