Basketball Recap: Elbert County Comes Up Short

Elbert County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Providence Christian Academy Storm. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Storm this season, with their most recent defeat being a 54-42 loss back in January.

Providence Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Zoie Cameron, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards. Sazy Cantrell was another key player, going 5-for-10 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Elbert County's loss dropped their record down to 23-4. As for Providence Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Elbert County nor Providence Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
