Soccer Recap: Johnson County Comes Up Short

Johnson County lost to Screven County back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans came up short against the Gamecocks, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Johnson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Screven County are ranked 136th).

Johnson County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Screven County, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

Johnson County and Screven County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Trojans see the pitch they'll take on Claxton at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Screven County, their break will end when they face Savannah Christian at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th.
