Preview: Carroll Tigers vs. Corpus Christi Moody Trojans
Carroll is 8-2 against Corpus Christi Moody since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Carroll Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Corpus Christi Moody Trojans at 12:00 p.m. Carroll is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Carroll suffered their biggest defeat since November 16, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 54-27 defeat at the hands of Flour Bluff. While losing is never fun, Carroll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 811th, while Flour Bluff is ranked 108th).
Meanwhile, Corpus Christi Moody's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial at home and fell 62-27.
Carroll has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Corpus Christi Moody, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Carroll was able to grind out a solid victory over Corpus Christi Moody when the teams last played on January 5th, winning 39-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carroll since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
