Volleyball Recap: Central Wisconsin Christian's Run of 11 Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Central Wisconsin Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Montello Hilltoppers. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hilltoppers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Kiley Beer paced Central Wisconsin Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Beer got some help from Hannah Abel and her seven assists. Beer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montello to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyla Calnin, who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Calnin has posted over her last nine matches.

Central Wisconsin Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Montello, the win (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 29-4.

Coincidentally, Central Wisconsin Christian and Montello will both be playing Johnson Creek the next time they take the court. The Crusaders will head out to face the Bluejays at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Hilltoppers will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
