Basketball Game Preview: Elysian Fields Yellowjackets vs. Timpson Bears

The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets will square off against the Timpson Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elysian Fields' offense hasn't had much luck over their past eight games, but Tuesday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

Elysian Fields is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Gary on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Elysian Fields was beaten by Gary 48-14. The Yellowjackets were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Timpson). They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 64-4 blowout they got against Waskom. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

Timpson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.5 points per game. As for Elysian Fields, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Elysian Fields took a serious blow against Timpson in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, falling 42-11. Can Elysian Fields avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
