It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They secured a 64-60 W over the Griffin Bears. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khaven Cochran, who went 7 of 16 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Connor Williams, who posted six points along with 15 boards and six blocks.

Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Central pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Griffin, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central Lions take on the Jonesboro Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Jonesboro's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 matches. As for Griffin, they will take on Mundy's Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Griffin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Mundy's Mill likes a good challenge.
