Boyd-Buchanan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Grace Baptist Academy Golden Eagles 16-2. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

Boyd-Buchanan got a great performance from Peyton Schwieter as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Schwieter has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cailyn Butler was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two triples. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Meade, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Boyd-Buchanan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Boyd-Buchanan's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Grace Baptist Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Boyd-Buchanan will be taking part in a tournament against Soddy Daisy at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grace Baptist Academy, they will face off against Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
