Softball Recap: Arroyo Grande Triumphs

Arroyo Grande lost to Mission College Prep back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Royals by a score of 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Adelana Rodriguez (2026) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Arroyo Grande let Kaylee Kopp (2027) and Marley Escareno (2028) run wild. Kopp (2027) went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Escareno (2028) earned three runs and three stolen bases. That's the most hits Kopp (2027) has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ella Stennett (2025), who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Arroyo Grande's record is now 9-17. As for Mission College Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
