Softball Recap: Bloomington Gets the Win

The Bloomington Bruins earned an 8-4 victory over the Indian Springs COYOTES on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

Aaliyah Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashley S. Torres, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Kathia Rosas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Bloomington's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Indian Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Bloomington will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Heritage at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Bruins will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Indian Springs, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Big Bear at 10:00 a.m.
