Baseball Recap: Franklin Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sharon, Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Lakeview Sailors 7-5. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sailors, too.

The team relied heavily on Drew Kockler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Ty Prince was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Lakeview, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Franklin will head out to challenge Cranberry Area at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeview, they will be playing at home against Maplewood at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Sailors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
