Basketball Recap: Bear Creek Drops Season-High Score on Denair

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bear Creek). They walked away with a 73-61 victory over the Denair Coyotes on Thursday. With that win, the Bruins brought their scoring average up to 55 points per game.

Noah Morris produced another solid effort putting up 33 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Marshawn Dixon was another key player, posting eight points.

Despite the loss, Denair still got an impressive performance from Koby Cervantes, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 13 boards. The game was Cervantes' third in a row with at least 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlan Brown, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Bear Creek's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Denair, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Bear Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 85-62 loss against Colfax on the 5th. As for Denair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 75-59 defeat against Fortune Early College on the 5th.
