Basketball Recap: Berea-Midpark Takes a Loss

Berea-Midpark lost against Solon back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Berea-Midpark Titans fell just short of the Solon Comets by a score of 67-65. The Titans were up 37-21 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Berea-Midpark saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nick Reece went 9 of 20 en route to 23 points and five rebounds. The match was Reece's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyson Clay, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Berea-Midpark smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Berea-Midpark's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for Solon, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Berea-Midpark will welcome Midview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berea-Midpark is facing Midview at the right time seeing as Midview is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Solon, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Solon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
