Softball Recap: Maurepas Comes Up Short

Maurepas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Zachary Broncos, falling 11-2. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by exactly nine runs.

Maurepas saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Delatte, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Maurepas' loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Zachary, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-14.

Coming up, Maurepas will be playing in front of their home fans against University Lab at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Zachary, they will square off against Parkview Baptist at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
