Softball Preview: Amsterdam Rams vs. Hudson Falls Tigers
The Amsterdam Rams will take on the Hudson Falls Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Amsterdam is looking for their season's first win.
Amsterdam lost 18-3 to Queensbury on Thursday.
Hudson Falls never got on the board in their matchup last Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Gloversville last Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Huskies/Dragons with a sharp 21-1 victory. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 9.5 runs per game.
Lainey Dunbar made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Emily Harrington was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marion Winter, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
