Basketball Recap: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Mountain Island Charter Raptor

The Christ the King Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Mountain Island Charter 59-25 at home. Christ the King has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Christ the King's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Peirce led the charge by scoring eight points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Peirce hasn't dropped below three steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Gorman, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Mountain Island Charter saw an underclassman step up: Cayla Bridgewater scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bridgewater has scored all season.

Christ the King's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. As for Mountain Island Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ the King will take on the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Island Charter, they will head out on the road to challenge the Pride at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
