Softball Recap: Orleans' Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Orleans strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the South Central Rebels as they made off with a 10-0 win. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Ella Owens made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Owens was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Adrian Abel was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Cambree Cline, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Orleans hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Central struck out nine times.

Orleans pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average this season. As for South Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Orleans will venture away from home to square off against Loogootee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Central, they will head out to face off against Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
