Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Cougars vs. Upper Darby Royals

Upper Darby will be up against a hot Springfield squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Springfield strolled past Haverford with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 49-33. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Fords are ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Upper Darby lost to Penncrest at home by a 47-32 margin on Tuesday. The game marked the Royals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Springfield pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Upper Darby, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
