Baseball Game Preview: Southland Rebels vs. Lyle/Pacelli Cougars

Southland hasn't had much luck against Lyle/Pacelli recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Southland has four wins , while Lyle/Pacelli has six dating back to last season).

Southland had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Schaeffer Academy last Thursday. The Rebels put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-1 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Lyle/Pacelli posted their closest win since May 13, 2025 on Saturday. They never let United South Central get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Cougars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Southland's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lyle/Pacelli, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Southland suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Lyle/Pacelli when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
