Baseball Game Preview: Maricopa Rams vs. Apache Junction Prospectors

The Maricopa Rams will take on the Apache Junction Prospectors in a tournament on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Maricopa's tournament run continued when they took on ALA - Gilbert North on Thursday. Maricopa came up short against ALA - Gilbert North, falling 11-5.

Maricopa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Varela, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Brady McMullen was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Apache Junction didn't have quite enough to beat McClintock on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Prospectors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maricopa's record is now 0-2. As for Apache Junction, their record now sits at an identical 0-2.

Maricopa was able to grind out a solid win over Apache Junction when the teams last played back in February of 2017, winning 11-7. Will Maricopa repeat their success, or does Apache Junction have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
