Durand waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Newman Central Catholic Comets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Comets since October 14, 2017.

Lola Robertson paced Durand's offense, picking up ten kills. Robertson got some help from Ali Anderson and her 12 assists. Amber Quine controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Durand's victory bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Newman Central Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season.
