Basketball Recap: Swink's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Swink came into Friday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged the Hoehne Farmers out 52-50. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Hoehne lost on Friday, don't look at Bobby Terry. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 boards. Those 20 rebounds gave Terry a new career-high. Caden Marquez was another key player, putting up six points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Swink's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Hoehne, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Swink didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-39 defeat against La Junta on the 14th. Hoehne has also already played their next matchup, a 65-50 victory against Del Norte on the 14th.
