Basketball Recap: High Point Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

There's no place like home for High Point Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 55-44 victory over the Chesnee Eagles on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Grizzlies considering their 19-point performance the matchup before.

Ella Zhuk had an outrageously good game as she went 9 for 14 on her way to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnasia Wilkins, who posted six points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Despite the loss, Chesnee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dacie Green dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Green has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Tolleson, who had 11 points.

With the win, High Point Academy broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8. As for Chesnee, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

High Point Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-40 loss against Liberty on the 9th. As for Chesnee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-33 defeat against Landrum on the 9th.
