Basketball Game Preview: Union County Braves vs. Henderson County Colonels

Union County is 2-8 against Henderson County since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Union County Braves will welcome the Henderson County Colonels at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Union County took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 79-24 win over Crittenden County. While the Braves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Henderson County was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Webster County 68-19. Given the Colonels' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Trojans are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Henderson County's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Union County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
