Recap: Armwood Hawks vs. King Lions

The Armwood Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 58-35 loss to King might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Armwood has scored all season.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Bernadin, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Talon Mckinnie, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Armwood were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

King had a senior duo take command as Julien Barnett scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five assists and Jabriel Hakim scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hakim has scored at least 25% of King's points. Ian McLargin was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Armwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for King, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

Armwood won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Durant at 8:00 p.m. on January 10th. Durant presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Armwood in Florida (Durant is ranked 143rd, while Armwood is ranked 578th). King won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Brandon at 8:00 p.m. on January 10th. Brandon comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
