Baseball Game Preview: Red Bay Tigers vs. Hackleburg Panthers

Red Bay hasn't had much luck against Hackleburg recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Red Bay is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Red Bay proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Rogers a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since March 6th.

Not much got past Jeramiah Thorne, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Rogers off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ty Reynolds, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Hubbertville typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Hackleburg proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Lions 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 20 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Red Bay's win was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Hackleburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.

Red Bay came out on top in a nail-biter against Hackleburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 12-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
