Baseball Recap: Calumet Victorious

Calumet proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tushka Tigers 6-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chieftains also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Calumet is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Tushka, their loss ended a 19-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-4.

Calumet and Tushka should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Chieftains (ranked 71st) will meet Waynoka (ranked 299th) at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tushka will take on Stonewall at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (13 vs. 112). The Tigers are on a nine-game streak of home wins, the Longhorns a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
