Section 8 Conference I recap October 8, 2013

East Meadow moved up to 297 from 343 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 8 Conference I. The Jets were able to move up by defeating Kennedy 35-13.

Baldwin was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fifth in the league. The Bruins beat Uniondale 26-16 earlier in the week.

Nick Suchocki provided a threat through the air and on the ground as East Meadow topped the Hawks.

Mike Scheuerer put up the best numbers in passing as Farmingdale beat Massapequa. He finished with 9 completions for 126 yards and 1 touchdown. Scheuerer's favorite target this week was Tom Kennedy, who caught 5 passes for 73 yards.

The Dalers' Vinny Quinn and Kennedy led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Quinn has thrown for 402 yards this season, while Kennedy has 15 catches for 278 yards. Suchocki from vinny mascia's team leads the league in rushing with 539 yards.

An important game coming up in Section 8 Conference I this week will be when Baldwin takes on Farmingdale. At the moment, the Bruins are in fifth, while Buddy Krumenacker's team is in first.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Baldwin takes on the Dalers. The Bruins have allowed 61 points this season, while Farmingdale has given up 35. Baldwin allowed 16 points last week as it topped the Knights.

The Dalers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Chiefs, 33-8. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
