Softball Game Preview: Glacier Wolfpack vs. Capital Bruins

Glacier has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Capital has won eight straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Wolfpack will welcome the Bruins at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Glacier earned an 8-5 victory over Big Sky.

Olivia Warriner made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cazz Rankosky, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

Glacier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Capital got the win against Hellgate on Friday by a conclusive 16-6.

Jaiden Grooms was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Drynan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Capital's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Glacier, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
