Volleyball Game Preview: Morgan Trojans vs. Ben Lomond Scots

Morgan has gone a perfect 5-0 against Ben Lomond recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trojans will take on the Scots at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Morgan has three straight wins, Ben Lomond has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Morgan won the last time they faced Carbon and Caleb Stephens did his part to make sure it happened again. The Trojans blew past the Dinos 3-0 on Friday thanks in part to Stephens, who had 11 digs and three aces. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Morgan's got stronger as the match went on, holding Carbon to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Ben Lomond didn't have quite enough to beat Grantsville on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Ben Lomond took Grantsville into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 18-25, 21-25, 18-16.

Despite the defeat, Ben Lomond saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jude Devereux had 12 digs.

Ben Lomond's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Morgan, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Everything went Morgan's way against Ben Lomond in their previous meeting back in March, as Morgan made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
