Volleyball Game Preview: New Mexico Military Institute Colts vs. Ruidoso Warriors

New Mexico Military Institute is 0-8 against Ruidoso since October of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Colts will square off against the Warriors at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Mexico Military Institute barely beat Dexter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Colts blew past the Demons 3-0 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Colts as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

New Mexico Military Institute never let Dexter on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Ruidoso hadn't done well against Tularosa recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-1. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Ruidoso walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14, 23-25, 25-20.

New Mexico Military Institute's record is now 9-7. As for Ruidoso, their record now sits at 10-8.

New Mexico Military Institute might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Ruidoso in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
